About
My Story
Having always loved animals, but not had any of my own, I had the chance of loaning a horse called Blue. Blue was soon to become my world I absolutely adored him, and because of this I was offered to buy him as I could never give him back.
My life with Blue was amazing, he taught me lots and we had so much fun; we had a special bond and trusted each other and when he had gone, I realised that I could never replace him.
Inspiration to use the paddock and turn it into a secure dog field, evolved from having my energetic springer spaniel, Paddy.
Paddy, originally my son's dog, stayed with me when he left home.
Paddy is a very active happy dog, who has selective hearing when it comes to recall, he also has a remarkable "spring" living up to his breed name. He would jump the fence and 5 bar gate and would be off, with me distraught and in hot pursuit trying to keep him in sight, ultimately a lost cause that led to me just looking for him.
Paddy could walk or run forever, so it soon became clear I was going to struggle with him, which prompted me to start a one to one training with him. I travelled weekly to Cheltenham, where we carried out training in a secure and safe area.
This was our turning point, so now Paddy and I now have a fantastic relationship.
My field was now being used by Paddy and me, to practise our training and dog walking routines, where I know he has complete freedom with no risk; especially to my health as chasing Paddy was far from easy.
I started to realise there must be other people out there, with their energetic dogs, who would also benefit from having a secure enriched environment, to let their pets run free, knowing they could do so in complete safety.
And so the work began.
